If you installed it properly (by connecting to an ignition powered source like socket plug), then it should read 0. When the car is on, it should read ~12.5V. When you actually start the car, it should move up to around 14V.

well i redid the wiring.. and i guess the cobalt gauges kinda "saves" the last voltage recorded, cause when i start it up again, it resets to 0, and goes back where its supposed to be
