My g/f's has 45K miles and gets Mobil 1 5w20 every 7,500 miles so I will do the same.

Anyone else care to chime in?

I have an '03 civic and it actually says under the hood and in the manual to only go 4500 miles, if you have an EX and it says to change the oil every 10K, talk to Honda. IT WAS A MISPRINT IN THE MANUAL. My dealer told, and then anouther dealer by me said "no, they can go 10K with out a problem." So I called American Honda Service and they said it was a misprint in the manuals, only the HX can go 10K between oil changes.
I still won't go 4500 because I drive agressively and besides, did you ever hear of anyone blowing their engine because they changed their oil to often? But I know people who have waited to change oil, then they change motor too. My point is no harm can come from changeing your oil to often, where as if you wait, you may have more problems. For anyone that has ever torn the heads off of a few motors, you'll know what I mean.

If you don't use sythetic, fine. But Honda suggests a Synthetic blend for our cars. And considering how black mine is, I don't think I like the idea of keeping it in there for more time than 3k.

They STILL haven't corrected the manual for 2004?!?!
Hard to believe im giving them a call right now...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Honda guy I talked to is right (he may have been on crack), and I have cought them saying the wrong thing before. But I just think I will not hurt my car buy changing the oil every 3k-4k, and as far as money goes, it's not that expensive and I can easily afford it compared to a new motor. So why not be safe than sorry. Besides, I'm about to go to the dealer and have it done. They'll do it for 14 bucks, and that the filter too. Just a side note, the Geniun Honda 5w20 motor oil is a synthetic blend.

The mechanica at the dealership.... but agian, I don't always trust them. I guess Ireally don't trust anybody if they can't prove it. But I figure it would be at 3.50 a quart.
