maintence light is on

I changed my oil last weekend, and now my maintence light is on. Did i do something wrong. I used the right oil filter for my car and i used castrol gtx 10w40 oil. let me know

how many miles do you have on your car...???? i freaked out when it went on at 8,000....but just do your maintance at 10,000

10k is when mine came on. Scared me too. Maybe that could be it.

It's just a coincidence. It happened to me and scared me too! You most likely did nothing wrong or you would get an oil light symbol or check engine light.

While holding the trip odometer button in, turn the key on (not start) and hold trip odometer button until light disappears. Usually no more than 10 secs.

This happens automatically at mileage intervals.
