Removing tint????
Removing tint????
I had 5% all the way around on my civic and I went almost 2 years without a ticket then I got 2 in almost a 4 month span so I decided to take it off. The tint pealed off fine, but it left glue everywhere the tint was. I used a razor blade and some cleaner to scrape it off all the windows but the back. I'm scared to try the razor with the defroster lines and antenna running on the back glass.
Anyone know the best way to remove the glue without messing anything up??

if you just spray windex on it and let it sit for a little while so it loosens up, you can still use a razor blade to get it off. i used to do tint at a shop for a little and we always scaped it off, defroster strips or not. as long as you don't push to hard, you won't hurt the strips. of course if you're still worried, just take your time and go easy on the strips. don't pay $50 or more for someone to take your tint off.
You can try mineral spirits or a paint thinner. I wouldnt even try to use that razor blade on the back glass though because if u slice into the defroster one time, thats all it takes to ruin it, then it wont work at all.

Sorry about taking so long to reply I changed my e-mail address on my profile and after that it wouldn't let post anything and I couldn't get an activation code sent so I set up a new name. Yeah they pulled me over both times just for the tint, once off of the interstate. I thought it all was a little extreme. Thanx for the help. Anytym01
