Help me with octane!

Sup guys, I have to to a project for my organic chemistry class. The subject that i chose to do is octane booster. If any one has information it would really help. Basically I found found out, but how octane booster works chemically that would be great.

I remember somebody saying in a thread that using octane booster is worse and instead high octane gas should be used in the first place.

any help will be good....thx guys

"octane booster" is paying $5 for a quart of 104 instead a $5 a gallon.
the thing you have to worry about with that stuff is the alcohol content. alcohol can begin to eat away at rubber if it's not flushed out of your system after use. It's best to just get in contact with a shop in your area that sells race gas. remember to ONLY use unleaded if you still have your o2 sensors or you'll be replacing them in a week. the highest octane unleaded comes in is 104.5.
there's a shop in San Lorenzo, CA called ERC that sells all kinds of fuel.

I can get 108 unleaded. A 10% by volume toluene/gasoline mix kicks the octane level up quite substantially. Not really a help, but something to look at.
