You should be able to notice a difference especially if you have engine mods for the ex.

my vote goes for no... i dont think you will feel that much of a difference, i have an ex and a couple of my friends have lx's... i beat them in a race, but i dont feel like im that much more powerful than them

It's only ten more claimed horsepower. And it could be different at the wheels. So most likely you won't see a difference. If you put mods on it you shoudl start to notice a difference. You're better off with the EX engine if you want to do mods since no one seems to make anything for the HX as far as engine modification. Why didn't you find a K20 engine and throw that in there. Then you would notice a big difference.

are you replacing the transmission also? I don't think the EX head/ECM is built for the transmission. You will run into problems unless you swap EVERYTHING.

Find an LX motor and place a turbo it. The comp ratio is lower to you can push 9 pounds of boost on the stock tranny with a cooler under 91 octane.
daily you can stress it to 5 psi vs the ex
ex can only run about 8 psi they ping at 9 psi unlike the lx motor.
just my .02 cents....
Thats why i am saving for my turbo.
I want to put down 200+hp with a chiller.....
no one really knows what our auto tranny can hold, and I bet its a little over 200. Most people pushing 220 have a new torque converter.
I am going to get buy at about 210 or 205, note this is with the chiller
