Exclamation Amsoil Dealer told me..

That Mobile 1 "full" synthetic is only 50% synthetic and Amsoil is the only motoroil that's 100% synthetic. He also gave me the lab results of the 2 oils compared....Amsoil kills all the other wanabe synthetics......I"m thinking of making the switch....Thoughts anyone?

That's funny, a Ford dealer told me that Chevy trucks are only 50% as good as Ford trucks, and then showed me a brochure, printed by Ford, that detailed this statement. I think I'll switch.

I think I'd find a more objective opinion that someone trying to sell you Amsoil. Amsoil makes great stuff, but trusting someone who's obviously trying to sell you something is stupid.

It is true that amsoil is marginally better. Here is a list of pros and cons vs. Mobile1

Pros:

1. In test results Amsoil is maginally better than Mobil 1

Cons:

1. Amsoil per quart almost double the price of Mobile 1
2. How many World racing titles have they won over Mobile 1
3. Mobile 1 has been around longer
4. Why dont Ferrari (all),Chevrolet (Corvette),Lamborghini (all),
Mitsubishi (Lancer EVOs),Dodge (Viper and SRT-10/4),Cadillac (all)
recommend Amsoil over what they already use, which happens to be
Mobile 1.
5. in a dyno my father personally tested Mobile 1 vs. all leading
synthetics as a bet with a friend. Mobile 1happened to create the
most horsepower by a slim margin.

So you make the choice marginal horsepower or marginal protection?

I use Amsoil's 2stroke racing oil in my sled, and it made a big difference, but its expencive. And for the price difference in our cars i think im just going to stay with mobile1

I ran Amsoil in my first Civic - a 1991 Civic Si. Don't know if it made that big a difference but it was pretty pricey.

I also run AMSOIL. It's the only synthetic 5w20 out. Even though the XL-7500 formula isn't as good as their other oils (it is a different base grade of oil used). I do swear by the stuff, and it certainly is among the best.

It is a smaller company than ExxonMobil (Mobil 1) and therefore they have significantly less money to give car companies and race teams to use their products, that is why you rarely see their sponsorships or cars that use them from the factory....

I used to be an AMSOil dealer and used to use it in my car exclusively. But I let the dealership lapse and am going to switch to M1. I decided that even with my dealer cost, $60 for an oil change + filter was just too much money.

Considering that I can get same thing from M1 plus filter for much muhc cheaper.

Always make sure to use 100% vegitable oil in your Honda Civic. It has a higher smoke point than Olive oil and when you are driving you can make great french fries.

Your forgetting that Amsoil will warranty thier oil for up to 25,000 miles on a non turbo car, that's 5 times more than Mobil 1.....

Amsoil is not a professional racing oil, it's an extended drain oil for street cars, and does that quite well. If your interested in lubricating a professional race car, I would try Redline.......

3. Mobile 1 has been around longer
Amsoil was the first automotive synthetic oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

4. Why dont Ferrari (all),Chevrolet (Corvette),Lamborghini (all),

This isn't convincing evidence.......

You really should check your information more clearly.....

Actually Al Amatuzio, the guy who started the company flew jets for 25 years, then used the technology of jet fighter lubricants to kick off his own research.....

1972 I believe was the year that they first sold oil and it was for automobiles....

Haha, I'm not gonna argue with you, but even if it was true it doesn't change the fact that Amsoil is the best out there.

Also doesn't Honda make lawnmowers? Oh my god, the company that makes your car has something to do with lawnmowers, quick sell it, get rid of it, lawnmowers are bad bad things!!!!!!!! Hurry before it's too late!

Tue.

Amsoiil is really the only true full synthetic. Amsoil is the 1st in synthetics.

The problem is that when you use Amsoil you cannot switch back to regular oil.
Mbile1 synthetic will allow you to switch back to regular oil.

laymans reason: you will have synthetic stuff all up in your oil lines and systems, so that would mess up the regular oils when it tries to get to your engine. then...kaboom!

maybe??? am i even close?

I don't know if that reason makes sense to me. Is it similar to how you can't go to synthetic then back to non synthetic?
