Light Switch Assembly
I was wondering if anyone has taken the light switch assembly (on the steering column; for the headlights) apart. I had my dash off this weekend and I had to bend the lower part around this lever.
End result: My high beams are always on regardless of whether or not the light switch is on. The switch operates, normally. Once I turn the light switch to the On position with the door open, the beep sounds and everything. The problem is that the high beams are on anytime the battery is connected. The indicator light even stays on in the instrument panel. If I unplug the clip to the switch assembly, the indicator light and high beams go off. I am guessing that something inside the switch assembly was damaged when I was bending the dash around it.
I was hoping someone may have taken this apart before and could provide some tips. I printed a part listing from Majestic Honda, so it gives some idea.
I am going to order the switch assembly and see if that works. If not, I guess it's off to the mechanic. Any advice on the switch assembly would be appreciated.

Just in case anyone else ever needs to know... I bought an assembly from Honda and installed it yesterday. Once you remove the plastic casing on the steering column and the steering wheel it is fairly simple. There are four screws on the "combination switch." Remove these. Unclip the wiring harness from the back of the comb switch (there are four). There is a bracket behind the assembly with one screw. Loosen this screw (it won't come all the way out) and you can remove the comb switch from the steering column. this makes it easier to work with. Once you have it off, the light switch assembly cam be removed from the side. It just takes a little boost from a flathead screwdriver. Once it's out, pop the new assembly in and reverse the steps.
Or just don't be stupid like I was and break your light switch assembly. Doh!
