Exclamation Maint. Light Q.

Hey guys, quick Q about the Maint. light. I saw a thread to Reset it [Thanks for that great info.], and I needed my oil changed for the 10,000 mile mark. I decided to change the oil myself- [being that my car is leased and my car is modified; don't want to get in trouble by the Honda Tech.'s].

I changed the oil and received a letter from Honda that I needed an Oil change, it also noted that my drain plug washer will be changed as well. It's been about 1K miles with my new oil and i haven't changed the plug washer.

Is it a big deal to have that changed? Would I lose gas mileage? Sorry to bother if it's a stupid question. Thanks for the help guys.!

please explain to me how a washer would affect your mileage?

after every oil change, you should change the oil drain plug washer. Its a crush washer so that you dont start leaking oil out of the plug. It cost like less than a $1 from the dealer.

really though, how would a simple washer that deals with the oil drain plug affect your mileage? Please explain how you made that connection.

Thinking of a washer that sprays fuel or something vital to the car. that's why this forum was invented!

even still. You said from the letter it said drain plug washer. where would fuel even come from in this instance?

Common sense would dictate it wouldn't affect your mileage.

i'm not trying to flame you or anything, but come on now. lol. its a washer.

I see post all the time with the weirdest connections that have NOTHING to do with the latter. I'm jus trying to figure people out.
