Arrow NEED HELP with shaving emblems ASAP

I need help with taking off the glue. I don't have goof off, and I have been using a hair dryer, which worked on the EX. The Civic part, however, is hard, and my fingers are burning. Any suggestions??? I tried hot water and tape.... didn't really work.

Thanks in advance.

You need googone for an easy glue removal. Also, don't forget to wax the areas where you removed the emblems.

Nah. . you can usually just wax and skip the shaving, or shave without waxing. It's up to you. Depends on what you like, and what your significant other likes. Wait. Are we talking about shaving shaving, or just shaving?

The LX was on my bumper. I elected not to wax that.

Oh BTW. I don't mean to be such a PW.

I just did mine on a really hot summer day in July, they peeled right off. The glue I was able to just rub off with a towel and some Windex.

yeah... i used fishing wire in between the emblem and car and used it in a up and down sawing motion. it cut it right off and then for the remainder, i used my fingers and pushed and rolled it up and off. then to make sure it was all off, i used bug & tar remover.

Glad someone finally caught that.

Anyways, thanks for the advice guys, but you're a few hours too late for me. I already finished, but I hope this helps others out there.

Oh, yeah. My dad came home and told me about the goof off bottle he just bought when he was at work

Not really....it's an organic solvent. Most people just think that since it melts styrofoam it will eat your sh*t up like battery acid.....nope.

i used my finger nails to take out the emblems on my EX.

the ex was real easy but the civic part was hard. right after i picked them out, i took goo-gone only like $5 at any hardware store, then put some of that on the sticky part n let it stay for 1min. den took a napkin/paper towel n started rubbin against the stickyness pretty hard. after couple rubs n min, it came off n i washed off the leftover chemcial asap. even better, soap it too.

when i did this, i noticed it left a "civic" mark on the rear of my car is ur lookin at it in the sun. its like outlines or sumthin. probably becuz i didnt clean the aftermess so well?

anyways, i gotta dent in my rear right fender and it looks like sum1 punched it in, i went into the trunk n pushed it back out but theirs still sum dent left, any ideas anyone?

please let me kno asap becuz this bullshit has been pissin me off everytime i walk to my car n makes me wanna blame sum kids.

thanks

no, the paint surface underneath the surface hasn't been exposed to the elements like your exposed body has....expect a difference between the paint underneath the emblems and the paint on your exposed exterior.....you needed to wax the area once you removed the emblems. I'm not sure whether or not its too late at this point or not. You need to wash and wax your entire car and see if you can have the entire rear matching.

no....those don't really count. Buff by hand or use a buff machine....not an orbital buffer. Those will take your paint off in a heartbeat.

I just washed my car and washed it, especially where the emblems were. It's a perfect job; thanks for the help.
