I NEED HELP, PLEASE!
I just got an automatic 2004 Civic coupe. I haven't done anything noteworthy to it yet. I decided to install my radar detector myself (an Escort Passport 8500), and it went very smoothly...right up until the end. I installed the wired remote in one of the empty slots above the cup holders and mounted the Passport's ground wire to the same bolt as the ground wire from the cigarette lighter adapter. As I was pulling the ratchet out from under the dash, the head got bumped and fell down into the open area surrounding the gear shift (since, of course, I still had the panels off). I don't know anything about how it's assembled under there, so I don't know how to get the ratchet head back. I looked in as far as I could with a flashlight and a magnetized screwdriver...nothing. I checked under and around the car, hoping that it had rolled to someplace where it could fall out...still nothing.
Does anyone know how to get into that part of the car? My guess is that it's between the center console (where the armrest is) and the center of the dash (where the stereo is)...I just haven't seen a way to get in there, and I don't want to break anything.
Thanks in advance if you can take the time to give me some advice!
