LOL wow, thx for the help, even though there was none. LOL, I don't neutral drop, i just wanted it to rev more. And injen, you should read more about cars. LOL I can lay on the gas all the day long and ittle hit 500 and the fuel will cutoff and then comeback on. This is in no way damaging my engine, mabey making it last 199,000 instead of 200,000.
i have an 2003 ex auto and same goes for me. i tried it only once to see if it would hit redline but i guess not. (while standing in N and revving, not while driving)
my guess is rev limiter? i have problems with top speed too, it seems like my car wont go any further then 110mph.. =\
you can always do that ecu work or w.e its called. program it, new chip, iuno.
hope this helps.

its a safety in autos so people dont blow up their engine in park or neutral. 5spds dont have it guess so you can drop the clutch and in 5spds the rev limter in only in place when in gear, I know cuz i missed a gear once when racing and it went to about 8 ( in the red zone) . . . a close one thought i was going to have to buy a new engine

who cares? it is just neutral. It isn't like you can't rev to the redline at all, just not in park or neutral. Why would you want to be revving in neutral anyway? It just pisses people off or if you want to race. Put it in D1 and rev it and it will be fine.
For our civic yes there's the limiter when u put the car in N it only go up to 5000rpm but for manual they can go up to 7000rpm
It's only on some car, for example In my brother's accord 1995 ex
he can rev up to 7000 in park or neutral... so not all the car can do that

No load rpms
I hate to say this, but I've been building and racing motors before most of you were born. I don't care if its a vtech, windsor, hemi, or a l88. NO LOAD HI RPMS WILL KILL!! It may not die today but much sooner than normal. Thread
