. It'll take you a bit more than 15 minutes, but definately less then 2 hrs if you have experience.

try about half an hour. i've done 2 diff ones on mine, one on my friend's 7thgen, and one on my gf's 7thgen lol...
u need a 10mm socket, a long extension, and a ratchet of course.
Taking out the resonator first (along with the lil tube that goes to the left) is the first thing to do. Also keep in mind that there is a screw (look at the throttle body from the driver's side of the car) that holds the air filter assembly to the throttle body. Loosen that before you attempt to pull the final box out.
Putting the aftermarket intake on is a breeze once you've taken the stock one out. Good luck.

Hahaha - I just installed one of those $30 ebay intakes last week sometime. For $30 it works - but its quality is to be questioned. The parts that came with the intake were a joke - there is no flange welded to the intake pipe to bolt to the engine block, so my intake pipe is only being held up by the silicon hose clamp to the TB.
The filter didn't come with a 3" hose clamp to clamp it to the intake pipe, nor did the valve cover hose fit properly (I had to ghetto rig it). BUT it works (and it was shipped really fast too!).
The only reason I installed one was because I am installing a turbo and need the room to convert my fuel system (the airbox / filterbox take up a LOT of space in the engine bay!)......

alright i got it done and my lord it saved alot of fucn space...first the stock filteres was..huge, and the only trouble i had was that the rubber fittin didnt fit, so i had to use the stock placers(filter>throttle) and put it inside my rubber fitters,..worked fine, but when i stop it would shake horribly, that scared the crap outo f me, but i waited 20 mins in idle and everything was fine again, no performance increase, but sounds good and loud

They sell filter oil. It's usually a pinkish/redish color. If you have a steel filter, non-oiled, you need to buy K&N or AEM etc filter oil and lube it up!!! Without the oil the filter will not perform properly.
Tell them you want a "K&N filter recharger kit", it comes with everything you need and really good instructions. If yours is like mine then the filter will be red even when its clean (real K&N filters are white so you can see the red oil on them and know when they are oiled), so use the metal strip to keep track of where you started. it all comes in a lillte orange and black box with some red and a graph paper pattern on it. What the heck is an "oriellys"? Is that like a pep boys or autozone? Im just currious about that part cause I have never seen one out here in CA.

Thats about what happened to mine. Not much power but sounds mean and looks nice.
