Question Auto shifter mod to lock between each gear??? P, R, d, d3 etc.

I always wanted to know if there was a way to do this and a few months ago I got a puppy and now I have to find a way to it because he knocks the car into Neutral or reverse while I'm driving or at a light. What I want to know is if theres a way for the auto shifter not to move (stay locked) in a gear unless i use the shifter button to move it. How can I rig this up.

Get a carrier for your dog. Focus on driving while you're, you know, driving.

It will not fall out. I did it once, not on my civic but on my Cavalier, and the car just shut down. Still running strong.

Not really grind the teeth off bro, what it may do is screw up the torque converter....on autos. that's all and converters ain't exactly cheap to come by alright?

hmm... I don't think you can do anything.

Does it really go from D to R? I always pull the lil thing so I can't tell... I do however know that you can just tap it into and out of D3 & N.

Can you keep the puppy in the backseat???

have you tried to contact B& M or someone like that to see if they make a shifter that you can adapt to your car? might look strange but they do make positive locking (slammers) gate shifters that are cable drivin

I was kidding about the reverse guys. Its not actually possible now, it wa sin the 80's with audi's. They use to ahve a problem with slipping into reverse, now the goverment made sure you cannot switch to rever without delebertly clicking and moving it there
