Auto shifter mod to lock between each gear??? P, R, d, d3 etc.
I always wanted to know if there was a way to do this and a few months ago I got a puppy and now I have to find a way to it because he knocks the car into Neutral or reverse while I'm driving or at a light. What I want to know is if theres a way for the auto shifter not to move (stay locked) in a gear unless i use the shifter button to move it. How can I rig this up.
shifter can be bumped anywhere between D D3 N and 2. i know that u cant shift into reverse without pushing the button. but i dont know if u can shift into reverse while driving. I Havent tried it nor Intend to.
^^ there ya go! all u automatics that wnat to be manuals, try it! once it falls out u can get the 5 speed that you always wanted! if u dont want to do it, let me drive your car and i can garuntee that i can ruin your tranny!

hmm... I don't think you can do anything.
Does it really go from D to R? I always pull the lil thing so I can't tell... I do however know that you can just tap it into and out of D3 & N.
Can you keep the puppy in the backseat???

have you tried to contact B& M or someone like that to see if they make a shifter that you can adapt to your car? might look strange but they do make positive locking (slammers) gate shifters that are cable drivin

I was kidding about the reverse guys. Its not actually possible now, it wa sin the 80's with audi's. They use to ahve a problem with slipping into reverse, now the goverment made sure you cannot switch to rever without delebertly clicking and moving it there
