ABS light on in the snow???

ABS light on in the snow???
Well I think my car sucks in the snow. Its so light and has no low end torque. But coming up a hill wicked slow in second gear a little while ago my ABS light came on??? Anyone have a clue what this could be.
the brakes are fine, no spongy feel and the battery is in good cond. The car only has 18k on it.
