how come in the philippines our 7thgeneration civic are D16's (honda dealers tells it)? the engine looks the same as the D17's in the US, my car is a 7thgeneration civic VTI (3 stage vtec in the philippines top of the line in manual transmission) in the US what 7thgenration would be equal to the ones in the philippines? i'm planning to buy a cylinder head in US and to modify it also in the US into a racing head and install it in my car in the philippines when i go back there. thanx!

sorrry to be the bearer of bad news... but in some countries honda sells 7thgen civics as having 1,6l motors to save people money on taxes.. engines that are bigger make larger taxes in some countries.. the middle east is the same way. it is the D17... bt like all motors by honda (except B18a and B18b) the motor is ranked a 1.7 but is really like a 1.6709 or some ****, not total 1.7, so honda can say its a 1.6 there...

all vtec is three staged, unless it's a 5th gen or older...
that would be a EX.

nope in the phil we only have a sedan their, but right now i'm in the US and i want to buy a full race head cylinder here and put it in my 7thgen civic in the phil

in the US what model of 7thgen sohc civic is in the top of the line? EX, LX, etc? in the phil our top of the line 7thgen's are called VTI-S
