What RPM is the Fuel Cut set at?
1. Start car
2. press gas to floor.
3. wait...it's a d17 after all
4. look at Tach
4. see where RPMs stop climbing
5. remember that number
6. Search

Ok, I dont get why you guys want to rev past 7200 RPMs with a Mostly stock engine.... theres no point.
there are 3 basic truths on shifting
1. for maxumum performance you always have to shift past the peak of the horsepoewer curve. (the stock EX peaks at 127 @ 6300 RPM)
2. Depending on the shape of the curve and the gear splits, you dont have to go very far over the peak. (Best shifting is probably in the 6500-6600 RPM range)
3. there is a point after which more RPM equates to less perfromance, not more.
So unless you have extensively altered the power curve then there is no point in going past 7200 RPM.

I was reading one time about how in a small displacement engine it was actually better to shift at redline. The guy was talking about the fact that if you upshift right after the peak power point you were now in lower RPMs and the engine wasn't in the peak of the power band for maximum acceleration. Basically he said the power loss was negligible sine the engine was spinning faster just wasn't accelerating at the higher rate...then when you shifted it would be at the start of the power curve and you would accelerate faster. He had some mathematical formulas to back everything up as well. It made sense when I stopped and thought about it...I wish I could find it again...I just searched for like 6 solid minutes.
ok the reason why i ask this is because im planning on getting the dh- racing valvesprings, retainers, ss valves, seals, intake manifold, and their cam
i gotta check the specs of the cam cuz i dont want something a tad bit off stock. i want something w a lil more umph. i mean im getting the head ready i might get some port work done it all depends how good the cam is. then after i see an improvement i will definitely go the trubo route
im leaning towards the SF kit but i heard GREDDY has one too

so whens it gonna finally come out? i said the greddy kit because i called dynamic turbo and they told me they came out w one for the coupe and he told me to call back for price cuz he was gonna call them to get the price. i just never called back im a lazy *** lol
