PROBLEM with my car...HELP!

The check engine light is coming on, the one that is over the temperature. Now I didnt think it was a problem until I started to drive home from work. When Im in any gear, if I go to high on the RPMs, the car will sputter, and I would have to shift. The wierd thing is that the light sometimes goes off, and when it does, it doesnt do the sputtering.

sounds like your thermostat is dead. The same thing happenned to my dad's Explorer. Hopefully its still under warranty, but any shop can fix the thermostat if that's what's wrong. When the warning light comes on, just turn the heat up all the way and turn the fan on all the way. This should help dissapate some heat from the engine so you can drive to the dealership, or whatever shop you choose.
