Cool Interior DIYs! lights, voltmeter (Tons of Pics)

Hey everyone,

I decided to work on the interior a bit more. Here's what I modded and tons of pics to go along.

RED Dash Lights--I did everything except the gauges. My cluster is ruined and now I'm running indiglos over them. Do you think I should do red gauge lights to match or keep the indiglos? I also have a deck thet really matches the indiglos well, so I don't know. Doing red would mean buying a new cluster for $80. I think I might. Would it look good all red and just the deck being blue? Here's an old pic before starting.

Voltmeter in the vent--I did this but decided to take it out and wait for the pillar pod to come in. The voltmeter I'm gonna do red as well (numbers and needle light up).

Painted shifter console black.

Okay here are the pics. For the red dash lights, I used two layers of red lens repair tape. Any more layers didn't give any different shade or intensity. The shifter and moonroof panels came out dimmer, but that's how it was stock anyway. For the auto light on the window switch, some electrical tape covered that right up

Nope--sedans are a really nasty yellowish green color. The red looks so much better. It's a deep red, too. I considered doing blue at first, but everyone who did this had it come out teal color.

So you think I should do the gauges red or leave the indiglos?

I already took out the gauge. I'm still waiting on the OBX pillar pod to see how it fits. If I'm happy with it, I'll send you my vent mount if you want it.

FYI- I cut it out of a blockbuster video tape case. Boy are they gonna wonder what happened when I return it!

No, I don't want the vent mount... I want that plastic so I can build one for the lower dash panel. Maybe I'll have to visit blockbuster

I like how that console came out. Seriously I've no idea what Honda was thinking when they did the sedan interior - that weird green / white lighting, and champagne shift console...

Anyway, how'd you do it? Just remove and spray? What type of paint did you use?

The redness came out really nice as well.

Good job!

It's not red anymore, lol. Just bright amber. I took off the gels and left it. But before, I used that red taillight repair tape. It's sticky and I used two strips for each. It worked pretty good, but it will be dimmer than just amber.

Voltmeter is also gone til I get my pillar pod.

Noooo, I redid everything already. Please see my sticky thread in tech for blue glow needles. The dash is amber now.
