I wanna know once and for all what the best engine swap for our car is? im sure this has been asked many times but i want to know what people are swaping with and how much it costs, what extra parts are needed and so on

Money makes it all possible.
I would get the K20 and a turbo, but my funds are very limited, so I'll just keep my D17 monster and go with SF turbo.

Parts needed for K series motor swap installation for 2001+ civic coupe and sedan


- K20A2 or K20A3 (from Civic Si) Engine With:
- AC compressor
- alternator
- P/S pump or idler pulley (from Civic Si)
- wiring harness
- exhaust manifold and catalytic converter

- ECU
- Transmission and starter
- intermediate shaft
- Axles from either 02 Civic Si or 94 up Integra GSR (we used 02 RSX with RSX knuckles and hubs)
- RSX or 02 Civic Si subframe
- Hasport ESK1 bolt in mount kit (as of this time the kit will not work with the K24)
- Hasport ESKWH conversion wiring harness
- RSX shifter assembly and cables
- 02 Civic Si radiator and fans (although the RSX will fit with some trimming around the radiator cap opening in the grill)
- 02 Civic Si upper and lower radiator hoses (RSX are longer and may kink)
- RSX throttle cable
- RSX fuel line, brake booster line and purge line
- RSX AC line from compressor to condensor
- RSX clutch lines from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder
- Custom AC line from compressor to evaporator (Hasport should have one available by April)
- 90 Accord negative battery cable

- If you want powersteering:
- RSX high pressure powersteering hose and return line
- 92 Civic P/S resevoir w/ bracket and a section of hydraulic hose to go from the pump to the resevoir

cost = about 6000.. might be able to do it cheaper than 6g though maybe more

then you need to put a bunch of internals in the K20A3 with a 9:1 compression ration throw on a turboneitics T61 turbo so you can get mad horsepower at 30psi. think about it 500hp at 30psi of boost. that should be fun. if you can get the rubber to stick.

ok xriceboyx it turns out i need closer to 13 thousand. Do we still have an open deal were you lend me the money and i try and pay you back someday? By the way thanks for all the help from everyone so far. Also i heard an h22 engine can fit in with special motor mount adapters, is this true?

No, the H22 won't fit. Unless you move the firewall back...

after that 3 months, i want $350 a month, untill you pay off your loan.
with that loan, i want 22% APR interest.

that means it is going to be a 65 month loan, with a payoff of $22533.33

IMO I would go through DH racing and have them build your motor up it will be a lot easier and more affordable than a K20 turbo plus you will see a lot more hp from the D17 with the work that they can do for around 6k fully built engine with SF turbo kit all ready to drop right back in about amonth later but that is what I am going to do plus also making you car a big time sleeper..

you have to flip the H22 around 90 degrees too...sure it will fit...lots of custom
work and it would never pass emissions being that it is an older engine in
a newer car....good luck getting the K20A to pass.
