djmota is just really nicedjmota is just really nicedjmota is just really nicedjmota is just really nice
what are the mods on the 95 ...cam, head work ect??
if none then i would say go with the ported original.
If a cam, cam gear, throttle body headwork ect are in the near future than i would say go with the aftermarke intake. But i would not trust obx to make a good manifold, i am thinking more along the lines of skunk2 or something. oh yeah they do look different.... not much of a difference in runner length.

opto_isolator has a spectacular aura aboutopto_isolator has a spectacular aura aboutopto_isolator has a spectacular aura about
Some quick info about intake manifolds:

Shorter runners (OBX) will allow the manifold to flow better. That means better top end power. Longer runners allow for more lower end power, due to something called "port tuning."

If you have adjustable cams, or can adjust your timing in other ways, the OBX will work great. If your car is stock, than the PnP'ed stock manifold would probably be better. If you install an OBX withough doing anything else, you'll probably lose low end torque / power......

I wish the KMS manifold for the 7th gens would actually produce power than
rob you of power!

Port and polish is the way to go.

some people say it takes away power, and others say it gives no gain...either way, not worth it. Catalyst is developing a new manifold which will have proven dyno gains.

ok tell me what you think here is my setup can the obx give me good bottom and top power if i tune my car right ? more than the stock port and polished intake manifold ?

i have a 95 civic hatchback with a jdm d15b 1.5 sohc vtec with a d16y8 port and polish head zex cam, stage 2 clutch, cold air intake, header, exhaust, cam gear and mugen ecu vtec ((4700 rpm limit 10,000)) gonna add some a dual core radiator, a 7lb flywheel and high compression pistons next week i already have them. i might have to get a d16block for pistons to work to raise the compression to from 9.6 to 13.0

lowered with tanabe springs and tokico shocks, 4 stabilizer bars and 15n inch si rims

what should be my next mod? nitrous ? i know i cant run turbo on such high compression but how about a supercharger ?

nitrous, turbo, and super are all forms of FI. i wouldnt run a supercharger on 13:1 compression.

If you run it with real high octane fuel like race gas you might get a way with it...but your going to have to run serious fuel for 13.1 you can't run that on pump gas.

so i cant run 93 octane with retarded timing and proper tuning ?

I don't have the conversion chart infront of me, but im pretty sure your going to need to runhigher octane than 93 even with the retarted ignition timing...Find a compression/octane calculator on the web, it will tell you all the conversions. Personally i think it will knock

i heard from some guys who have experience and thye told me that i can run 13 compression with 93 octane and proper tuning and retarted timing because they did it already

If you run 13:1 compression with the proper FUEL (race gas, or methanol) with advanced timing then you will make more power. If you run 13:1 compression and RETARD your timing...your defeating the purpose, they cancel each other out it's going to run like *** and not have full potential. but you are right you will be able to run pump gas on it.

You want to run your ignition timing as advanced as you can before you rattle the motor....advance...advance..advance..and then when it rattles, bring it back a little bit untill it stops rattling. then you have perfect timing.

IF YOU RUN HIGH COMPRESSION YOU NEED TO RUN HIGH OCTANE!
That's all there is too it...
