header rattle?

I have a 2002 LX coupe. I had a 5zigen axle-back with custom piping with the stock down pipe. A few weeks ago I had gotten a Kamikze header. When a friend of mine installed it for me it fit fine, except for this metal ring that fitted between where the stock header and the downpipe bolts together. It seems like it supposed to be there but the end of the header is a hair too wide. Now, at low rpms, it makes this rattling noise like its about to fall apart. My other friend says that because the ring isn't there, there is like an air leak, causing the rattling sound
I don't know if that could be true, but it makes sense. Can someone give me some info on what I should do???
OOOPS, wrong forum...mod please move

thats probably what it is...if it came with directions did it say to use the stock ring you're talking about? Or did it come with a different one? Id try and get the header cut, flanged so it would fit
Also, im thinking about getting the Kamikaze, where'd you get it and how much? Any improvements in HP and torque? Are there holes for the 02 simulators? thanks

use the stock ring... they didn't give one to you because you're supposed to re-use it ... or so it said on the kamikaze site
uhh ... don't get your header cut ... they made it how they did for a reason... if they wanted you to have your header cut, they would've just said **** you and asked you to get a custom header

Thanks for the input. I got mine from bigjoshracing.com for 278 with the MIL eliminator. I did notice some gains but I think I'm not witnessing its full potential with that problem I have. I know for sure it loud as hell! I love it though. Oh by the way, I ordered my Tanabe cat-back the other day. Would I still need that ring, or can I get put it aside?
umm ... you need the ring if you don't want your car to sound like crap and if you don't want your engine bay to smell like crap
I would recommend against getting the tanabe srm ... but since u already ordered it, I guess it's fine

I don't know why everyone on this forum recommends it. Everyone probably thinks it's cool because everyone else has it ... well, my custom exhaust gave me better low end ... and it was crush bent too. But at least it was straighter than the tanabe ... well, because the custom was made in relation to the stock piping.
