I just got some Alpines in my vic, and now the trunk torsion bars don't fit back it! This poses a pretty big problem; as my trunk no longer stays open. I'm sure that many people here have upgraded their speakers, and I'm just wondering what did you do? Is there someone who makes aftermarket torsion bars? It shouldn't be that hard to make the current curve for the speakers a little bigger, should it? Thanks

ok....i read a DIY for installing gas shocks for the trunk. I think I'm going to do this. However, Grey suggested 40lbs for a stock trunk (no torsion bars), but someone later in the thread said that those are a little weak, so should I get 40's or 50's? I'm thinking 50s right now, because if theyr too weak, the trunk will fall down which is bad. If they are too strong, though, the only effect will be that they're a little harder to close, right?
