Hey all,
I have seen many pictures of Bypass valves on EX engines but I havn't seen any of valves on LX or DX yet. I have a AEM CAI and the only seperation in the tube is down next to the battery. I always see people putting the valve up next to where the tie bar would cross. I know the EX version of the AEM CAI has a seperation at that point but what do you do for the LX/DX model. Do you cut the tube? Please let me know what to do, I don't have a Valve yet but I was thinking of getting one.

The EX CAI also splits near the battery. If you want to mount your bypass up higher than where it splits, your going to have to cut the pipe. You can cut it wherever you see fit..wherever you think it will look good and function best. There is no real need for one unless your going to drive through a river. I've had a CAI for 2yrs and haven't had a problem with hydroloc yet. But if you feel you need one, just cut and install..simple. Good luck

I'm realy don't think I am going to get one...I have had mine for over a year now and I havn't had any problems either but I was just curious as to how it would be mounted just incase I decided to get one. Thanks for the help...any tips on what to use to cut the tube with?

You could mount it where you thought it would "look nice" It doesn't really matter where you mount it...The higher up the better i suppose so it can breathe when your 4 feet deep in a river =).
Umm...you could cut it with a hacksaw in a miter-box, or straight up. It doesnt need to be a perfect cut because the rubber will cover the uneven edges. Just make sure you clean out the pipes REAL good so your motor doesn't inhale all the metal shavings. Good luck.
