2001 Non-VTEC Any Potiential

Hey guys. I got a non-VTEC (D17A1 I guess) in my 01'. If I start working on internals is there any potential out of these engines, or is this a waste of effort.

So far only way to go is turbo or K20 swap. Apparently everyone says bolt ons dont do much for the d17

just think of it this way... its easier to turbo cuz us non v-tecs dont need the vtec controller to go along with it... there's always potential with the right amount of cash haha

yeah check out the turbo forum... I wish I wouldn't have bought so much crap for my car and just saved money for the turbo... thats probbaly the best way to go...

Check out Catalyst's ride. He has an LX (non-VTEC) and is running like upper 13's with stock internals and a turbo.

^^ YES. Catalyst is running mid 13's. He is getting ready to upgrade the turbo a little and might begin on internals. He is still running on the stock clutch.
