i have a question!!
Can anybody tell me the difference between the D17A1 and the D17A2, and what has to be done to add VTEC to the LX engine, and will the EX header work on the LX?? Why not??? Thanks guys!! By the way i am new to honda, so i dont know anything about them!!!

Well you could add a VTEC head to your LX, but it wouldnt be worth it. It would cost a lot to tune and many shops wouldn't even bother with it because of reliability. If you really want VTEC just a buy a used d17a2 for around 800 dollars. Also not to mention you would have to get a d17a2 ecu if you swapped the head.
The difference, Looney_01Civic, is of course, VTEC, a higher compression ratio, slightly higher redline (by 300 rpm), ABS, sunroof, painted everything, oh and keyless entry. Hope this helps
