DIY: Carbon Fiber Hood Install
Materlials Needed:
- 10mm socket
- Pry Bar
- Carbon Fiber Hood
Step 1:
Remove your stock hood. Start by detaching the washer nozzle lines from the hood.
Step 2:
Place some rags between the hood and the car. This keeps you from scratching the paint.
Step 3:
Remove the 4 bolts(2 on each side) with your 10mm socket.
Step 4:
Even though the bolts are removed the hood stays attached to the hinges. There is an epoxy type material on the hood. Use a crowbar to pry it off. It's really easy.
Step 5:
Remove the Hood.
Step 6:
Open the box containing your new hood.
Step 7:
Clean up your mess of peanuts.
Step 8:
Remove the bubble wrap.
***NOTICE HUGE FVCK UP ON THE HOOD'S CORNER AND CRY FOR A FEW MINUTES***
***GO TO REHAB, GET TREATMENT, GO BACK TO INSTALLING YOUR HOOD***
Step 9:
Bolt the new hood onto your car. Shut the hood and use the levelers to make the hood sit evenly on the car.
Step 10:
Stand back and enjoy the great job you did on the hood.

Looks Beautiful...
I remember when i helped someone install their hood. It fell on the ground and cracked instantly.
Just really quick, I think i see an alien eye in that picture of the f*cked hood

Or, even worse, if you get in a head on car accident, the hood could fly through the window decapitating the driver. Hood pins are vital for safety. I dont plan on dying anytime soon.

<< WRONG, it might shatter but it is still more likely to bend and break off at the hinges. This $hit has happened to people. It's not just another theory or story. Many accidents involving CF Hoods result in the hood still being intact. And people have been killed by their hood tearing through the windshield. It doesn't crumple like stock hoods. >>
Jesus Christ!!!!! I've never heard of that ever hppening. It just rips off your head?

I am running my eBay hood without hod pins. I get no rattles, no vibration, no wobble, no shaking, whatever word you use to describe it. The hood I received has the same reinfocements inside as the OEM hoods. the bracket is identical. I get all the compliments, and have no fear of the hood flying off my car. My hood = WIN!
btw, the hood looks damn sexy fly!!!
