Rev limiter

Does anyone know what the rev limiter is set at in the 2000-2002 Si civics?
Also, how does one remove the limit?

7500 isnt it?
I imagine its ECU related, you might need an overriding chip to remove the rev limiter (then again it could be a flick of the switch somewhere, Im not 100% sure).

Tayler can only hope to improve
Im pretty sure its a ECU thing(not positive), be careful if you do mess with the rev limiter because to much rev on a stock motor can do damage to it.

Its a Honda though, surely it can rev to 9000rpm and still be happy?

Just kidding Mikey.. dont do it unless you have a worked vtec motor

So no point removing the rev limiter, you're not racing on the track!

8000rpm is more than enough road use. hell i used to have a car that wouldnt rev past 4000rpm and i could still drive it ok.

Just Looking Through Some Old Posts, Is Everyone Aware That There Was No Si In 2001?

The Coupe Was A 2 Year Deal 99-2000, And Then The Hatch (ep) 02-05
And Then We Got The Current Fg2 Coupe Si

And 99-00 Si Revved To 7800

+1. These are two different cars. My 2000 si redlined at 8000 and went just slightly pass that before hitting the rev limiter. I have no idea what redline was for the 2002 lunchbox.
