I don't get the credit part. The guy on the phone asked me for my Social Security number and I was thinking WTF? I asked him why he needs it and he said to do a credit check, again I was thinking WTF? What does that have to do with how risky of a driver I am? Insurance companies in Canada don't do any of that stuff, they don't even ask for your Social Insurance Number (SIN).
The "we don't insure modified cars" thing was surely a decision made by their actuaries stating that modified cars are more likely to engage in risky behavior. As much as people don't want to believe it, the owners of truly exotic cars seldom go crazy on the street with them as they are generally older and have a lot to lose. If anything, they will track their cars but that's not covered by insurance anyway so the company doesn't care.
The company is large enough that it is guaranteed to have the infrastructure and actuaries necessary to make a statement against modified cars and filing a complaint with the BBB isn't going to do anything. Companies are only required to restrain from arbitrary or unnecessary discrimination. If they can prove it was necessary and not arbitrary, there is no foul.
Time to just be happy with your new company.

maybe i should to, "I have this friend online and he hates them to, they wouldn't insure him because he had a aluminum pipe with a better filter instead of a plastic box. they suck and you should kick them square in the nuts, that is all"

Why in the hell would you go with Geico insurance anyway? I can tell you write now that getting turned down for a CAI is utter bullshit like everybody has stated. I am an Insurance agent in Georgia and I have never had that happen with any of the eight companies I write policies for. It was the underwriters decision only and I've had to sway their decision a couple of times myself. Trust me you, and everybody else, is better off without Geico and their stupidly (made it up) high prices and shitty service.BTW, my car is $250 a year and it has 558HP in a civic DX.

I guess the lesson here is not to tell insurance companies about mods, and if god forbid you get into an accident try and take off all cosmetic mods before the adjuster shows up.

well the thing is, most adjusters have no clue. they are independent and just go out to the scene and make an estimate. then you deal with the body shop and tell them anything extra. like i had to have a new rear lip, so i told the shop and then they just billed the extra cost to insurance saying they had to order "more parts"

My mom has the same car as me, I mean we got them the same day. Same color and everything. So if they have a problem I will just swap the parts real quick. Hood intake and exhaust. Shouldn't take more than a hour and a half.
Then i will drive to the inspection and let them do their thing. lol
I am going to get in touch with the corporation commission, they are the ones that keep these big companies in line.
