Hey guys, was not sure where to post this, so please no flaming...lol
I currently have a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon SE V6 6 spd with I/H/E.
I raced my buddies stock 2006 Si and I beat him by about 2 cars.
Now my dilema is, I really love the new Si's. Love the styling, the sound, pretty much everything about them. I'm debating whether to trade in my Tiburon for an '06 or '07 Si.
I know stock, they are pretty darn quick. I'm guessing with I/H/E, it would walk the Tiburon. Is this a fair assumption?
Also, any pro's or con's you have with them?
Any help would be appreciated. I will be going to a Honda dealership tomorrow, and would like some insight before I go. I would ask my buddy, but he went from a Mustang to his Civic Si, and just got it about a week ago, so he does not know much yet.
Help out a possible future Si owner...lol
Thanks

hmm... i think in terms of reliability the Si will last u a while longer than the hyundai. Like my friend has a yellow 04 GT tibby (i believe) with like 70k on it i believe, and he ran in to some major problems just recently.
but the Si has a k-series engine which responds well to bolt ons... read some stuff here man http://www.8thcivic.com/

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30250
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45585
these 3 threads show dynos with certain mods, one even has a Intake, exhust mod pull.
but ur tibby is 2898lbs and has 172hp and 181tq to the crank ith your mods its safe to say u are around 175hp to the wheels.... the si stock is 2877lbs and around 185hp (to the wheels respectively) it was prolly just cause u were the better driver man with the way u drive u would prolly be better off with the Si, and be able to walk all over your buddy... i got a solution. GO to a honda dealership and test drive a si, then meet up with ur buddy and get a quick run or two in
well this should start u on ur way...

The 2006 Si feels like a rocket compared to the Tiburon GT V6 (both manuals). So, I agree with the previous statement.. You are probably a much better driver than the guy with the Si. And since he is used to driving a Mustang, he probably shifted way below where he should have. Many people with high powered 4-cylinder engines (especially those who are used to driving around torquey V8s) just don't know how to utilize the power.

if there were equal drivers in both cars the si would have won, not to mention gas milege and handling are both way better in the Si as well.
hands down: Civic Si > tiburon
hands down: Civic Si > tiburon

^^^And the award for the shortest sweetest answer goes to ^^^^
I have driven both models in various years 2000 and up and the Si wins hands down. In my opinion the Tib looks alot more like a chick car, but the dual exhaust is pretty sweet.

hyundai v6 is terribly underpowered. puts out what most 4 cylinder engines do.
