Scratch removal?

My car (SSM 02 coupe) has a whole bunch of little scratches, scuffs and imperfections here and there all over it.

What is the best method to make them less visible/remove them?

I've got the touch up paint that came with the car but it never really works properly... especially for the scratches that aren't deep.

Re: Scratch removal?

If its shallow scratches on your clear coat I used Meguiars SCRATCH X 2.0, worked pretty well but you really have to work with it and follow the instructions. Meguiar's anything works really well and I can vouche for that.
If youre interested heres a link.....

You can find it at walmart or any local autostore.

Re: Scratch removal?

Yeah - I was thinking about that. I've got Plast-x for my headlights that I've been waiting for a nice day to use, so I'll go out and get some Scratch-x on pay day. Do you recommend using it on the entire car or just on spots where there are obvious scratches?

What to use for deeper scratches?

Re: Scratch removal?

Yeah you can use it on the whole car no problem, it just really depends on how much time you want to spend on it, it tends to be very tedious work.
as for deeper scratches it depends on how deep we're talking because you can only do so much with a given depth.

Re: Scratch removal?

For future reference how often do you wax your car? Waxing helps keep your paint from those small scratches, it acts like a protective barrier.

Last time I did a real rub on wax was just before the winter hit.. however every time I wash my car at the self car wash place I use the spray on turtle wax stuff that they have.

Re: Scratch removal?

the spray on stuff at the carwash is like wiping your *** before your ****....doesnt do much. I like to give it a sweet *** wax once a month but there are factors to consider:

Type of paint
Condition of paint
Local environment (normal conditions and extraordinary events)
Number of hours exposed to outside conditions
Quality and type of wax applied
Quality of wash solution used to wash car

I Live in Texas so wax is VERY important!

Re: Scratch removal?

Unfortunately I don't have a garage so waxing the car in the freezing cold snow is not an option.. however it will be soon.
