Re: advanced timing

Advanced timing is safe as long as you arent getting any knock or pinging. You need to be logging your knock sensor in heavy weather and monitor for problems. I wired my knock sensor to my SES light in my Evo so I can see it on the dash when I get a knock. It is much better to graph your run with a laptop. With increased octane you will be able to get more knock resistance .

Re: advanced timing

Just like Jp7 said watch for knocking and your check engine light. I tweaked mine the other day and runs good. Ill have to find the name on the recorder i use from work but you plug it in your obdII connector and drive you car. then when your done plug it in the pc and it will show you full graph and everything on how your car was running. it very handy tool.
