Stock Colors

Hi, I'm considering buying this 2001 Civic SI. Does anyone know if this is a stock color for the model? I think it's supposed to be sunset orange but I've never seen a Civic SI in this color. Thanks for your help!

Re: Stock Colors

Also, I'm a bit confused as I've read that Honda didn't make an SI for 2001? Does that make this car a 2002 then?

Re: Stock Colors

Whoe!!! I've never seen a civic that colour before myself. There is a good way to check though. In the glove box (I think that's where it's located) should be a colour code and name. If the colour name does not match the colour of the car then you know it's not original. You could always pop the hood and check the firewall for areas that may have been missed (if they even went as far as painting the firewall). Of course that's assuming you have easy access to the car. Don't forget to run a CARFAX report on the car to make sure it has not been in an accident.

As far as your SI question goes. Your in Canada, so the model codes are a bit different. In the great U.S. of. A, that particular car would have been labelled as an EX, not an SI. I don't know if you have seen SI-Rs driving around??? They are the Canadian equivelant of an American SI, and only come in hatchback. In the States, they have no SI-Rs. Which means that car is actually a 2001 Honda Civic EX, with Canadian badging, which was built from 2000-2005. SIR's were built from 2002-2005 I believe. I hope that helps and does not confuse you too much... It's far too late for me to be answering questions!
