expanding spray foam...

my 94 civic ex has some rust in the rear quarter panels and a buddy of mine told me to try expanding spray foam than shave it off and than bondo or fiberglass over it, im just wondering if anyone has ever tried this? i want to buy new replacement quarters but short on cash so if anyone know a good place let me know, thanks

ha no the foam will fall apart over time esp when it gets cold or hot. use real body filling supplies only or youre gonna have a bigger mess later.

Just a reminder.. bondo etc really is a temporary fix. After working on my 65 impala(yes, its way older than your car)... but even living in dry Arizona, bondo is temporary, and the rust will continue to eat away and the bondo will start cracking then you will have to dig out the cancer again etc etc.. The only permanant way is to know how to weld, cut out the rust, weld new metal in, paint etc correctly.. If you want to patch up a couple of things just so it looks good, so you can sell it or something fine. ... but dont sink any money into paint with bondo over rust.. wont work

partstrain.com usually has pretty cheap stock body part that come primed....i found my front fender on there for $36 brand new
