Hello, I have a '08 Civic with 20, 000 miles on it. During the oil change last time (last week), I noticed multiple hair lines indications (cracks like) on the oil pan. These indications (cracks like) are externally. I took the car to the dealer thinking this was bad news, but they turned me around saying that these cracks were normal. (They said that these were casting markings, they were careful not to call these cracks (defects). I know better that these are surface cracks on the oil pan.
My question is to those who own a civic, Does you oil pan have the same hair line cracks?

While I was at the Dealer I looled at two other civic's oil pan, and they did not have the same cracks mine has.....I could send you some pictures if needed.

If some one out there has the same condition I would like to know... Thanks a lot

are they straight lines or are they all weird and random? Sounds like they dont want to be bothered with you.

These cracks are not straight. They go in all kinds of directions.
