Long trip
Long trip
Hey guys
I have been planning a long trip with my civic. It's a 5speed with about 48k on the clock. Well so far I followed the maintenance schedule like a religion. I have the plugs, tranny oil, fuel system flush all done when she hit 30k. This is going to be a 3k round trip. It's going to take me some where from 20 to 25hours for the whole drive. So what should I check before I head out on this long journey. Thank you for any helpful suggestions and of course your time.

Re: Long trip
Hey.
You should check your tires- tread wear and properly inflate them.
Check your coolant, if you haven't done so.
Maybe some wiper fluid in case your windshield gets dirty, umm.. oh yeah, SPARE TIRE lol
Make sure your lugs are tight on your wheels before you start driving.

lol... mar-apr, i went from CA-NC-PA-NC-CA... my car had around 75000 before the trip, and I didn't check that stuff...OOPS! well, i DID check my tires, but yeah... lol. AND I needed an oil change! (got one in NC, then again when i got back :P)
Re: Long trip
Yea i'll definitely check the basics. I just little worried that if it would be too much for the motor. But seeing how some of you guys had long trips then I am going to check the basic and hope for the best.
