Tires 6 years or older can kill you.

Really interesting, I've never heard of that. I'll have to check the date on my tires. I didn't know they were so unreliable! Only lasts 6 years?? Pathetic! Sounds like more technology suppression. What about ****ing silicon tires for extra strength and longevity?

Please watch vid too at the bottom of this link.

Re: Tires 6 years or older can kill you.

I saw this one a dateline special, but that was almost a year ago...

Anyways, sucks to find out that your brand new tires have been sitting on a shelf for 12 years.

Re: Tires 6 years or older can kill you.

That's just insane! Once I was confident in my tires, but now I gotta say that the general design is flawed. I'm sure they could easily come up with a tire that lasts, on the shelf, indefinitely.

and this is a gross eggageration, its not anywhere near this bad, ive been working with tires for 6 years now, and never seen this happen, even on 3 digit tires, dont beleive everything u read. many of our used tires go to mexico, where they get reused

What's the other half of the battle? Running into bullets to advance the NWO?

Yeah but I would never buy tires older than 2 years old, and I would make sure that they are made the same year. I saw a Mitsubishi SUV down in sacramento recently with a blown tire. I thought maybe he over inflated without a psi gauge (a lot of people do that at first thinking they can eye ball it). But maybe it had something to do with the tread ripping off...

Re: Tires 6 years or older can kill you.

i hate my tires lol. fuzion ftl! and yea rubber gets old over time. tread design and compound makes a big difference. my car used to handle like bmw, now its more like pontiac lol. tires affect almost every aspect of how the car drives even braking and acceleration.

well at least i dont push my car as hard to try and save gas now, so its not a huge deal. but there are times when it cant even make a corner without starting to slide lol. theyre not as bad as firestones, but not great either.

Re: Tires 6 years or older can kill you.

also, i had a tire completely blow out on my old car (87 jetta) on the freeway going 65mph and i was driving on rim. i did not lose control at all and it just felt like the car was losing power and shaking. i was able to signal to the exit ramp and safely coast to the stop light and pull over. so idk, i guess it depends how it happens.

Re: Tires 6 years or older can kill you.

yeah i know. cause i see skidmarks all the time on freeways where they lead into a ditch or divider. its scary stuff and i always replace my tires early. i am gonna check when my tires were made now.

spare tire was made in 2001, which i guess means it was new since my car is a 2002. my fuzion tires i bought in january this year were made in 2007. that stamp was on the front of both tires too btw.

Re: Tires 6 years or older can kill you.

wow my last set of turanzas lasted almost 50k miles and i wasnt being easy on them either. the only reason i replaced was one front tire was at the tread limit, others were still fine.
