"smoke" headlamps
so, duplicolor has a new smoke metalcast paint. if you dont know what this series is, basically they have different colors that you spray onto a chrome surface to get a shiny color. it goes on thin like a tint and allows the chrome to shine through the color. now what if instead of blacking out the insert, you spray right over the chrome with the smoke color? like a black chrome. i havent seen this in stores yet, but when it comes out i may buy some and try it out on a spare light i have. its basically the paint people use to yellow out the hi beam reflector or orange out the signal reflector.

Gear, I think you should just leave the clear front cover part off your headlights and drive around with them exposed. You're like endlessly molesting your lighting setup.

haha lol no im not doing this idea to my own lights. they stay clear. altho there will be some led "city lights" involved which you already knew.
Re: "smoke" headlamps
i have a spare set of 04-05 lights, but i was really interested in using this stuff to make my rear emblems black chrome. it says you need to buy the ground coat to put on if it isnt a chrome part, but chromed plastic. i talked to a manager at advanced autoparts today and he said he would order some for me.

Re: "smoke" headlamps
is the ground coat clear? if its not i wouldnt recommend using it on the chrome first. i think they have that cause if you spray the paint right on, it may not stick very well. but you just have to apply very thin coats at first, then build it up.
