Re: help me!!

Civics are no different than any other car so treat buying one just like you would any other. Here are a few tips:
1) Always test drive the vehicle!
2) Pop the hood with and without it running
3) Have someone else start up the car and check to see if anything comes out of the tail pipe
4) Check all lights
5) Check A/C and heat
6) Check under the car for rust
7) Check all seals on the doors
8) If its a manual trans. check how the clutch feels and check how the gears change
9) Check the treads on the tires
10) Check wipers
11) Check all fluids (check out the wiper fluid by using it)
12) Check all audio (put your ear and hand on all speakers)
13) Check the cruise control if the car has it
14) Check all window/ sunroof functionality
15) Check for the spare tire/ part kit
16) Check all locks
17) Check overall body condition/ window condition

Dont EVER let the person selling the car distract you/ try to take your attention away from what you are looking at. Also, don't let them/ don't ever have the radio on/ have the windows down while test driving the vehicle. Make it as quiet as possible to listen for possible problems.
GET A CARFAX!
If you can try to get your normal mechanic who you have a good relationship with to look the car over before you buy it.

I hope that this helps! Best of luck in buying a Civic! If you have any more questions feel free to PM me.

Re: help me!!

You can get just about anything for all civics if you look enough. I'd suggest a civic with a vtec or a bigger swap engine.

Personally I feel that mods are easy to find for all civics of those years.

Vtec is a must....
If you looking for something 'faster' stock then I would go for the Si or the Ex trims. I've test driven a few Si's They are fun cars.
