constant using of bio ethanol
constant using of bio ethanol
Greetings from Ukraine guys.
Going to buy this used Honda
Does anyone know how will constant using of bio ethanol effect on this Honda’s engine? I mean, wouldn’t it be bad for a car? The Authorized Honda Centres in Ukraine has no answer. The Ukrainian Honda forums also haven’t got a clue. So, I rely on your experience and knowledge.
Many thanks for any help.
BTW, how do u refer to bio ethanol? It isn’t very popular in Ukraine. But, IMHO it has a great future.

Re: constant using of bio ethanol
The engine isn't built for bio ethanol, so I don't know that anyone can answer this for you. Right now in the states only our bigger vehicles are running E85, it's not really suitable for our 4-cylinder cars. I think it can cause fuel system problems if you run it in your honda. My advice, stay away from it unless you're driving one of the new, bigger trucks/vans that are set up to use it.
There may be a future for this fuel, but I doubt it'll run correctly in any Honda at this time. Good luck...

Re: constant using of bio ethanol
awesome, welcome to the site!
bio ethanol isn't that great imo. over here, we make it from corn, which is the only reason why we have ever heard of it... long story short it is just supported by politicians because there are a great many corn farmers who need the business and will give their vote to a candidate that supports it. it in fact isn't any better for the environment (once you understand the entire process to make and distribute the stuff) and there are way better alternatives.
aside from that, it appears as though that civic is made for petrol. you will want to do a little research on ethanol to see if you can run an ethanol mix or straight ethanol in an engine that is designed for gasoline. i have no idea as to how ethanol works in a normal engine, i just know of some hybrid engines that will use gas or ethanol or both, and this civic doesn't appear to specify that, it just says petrol.

I also see the guy is asking 20,500 USD in the ad... I don't know what they normally go for over there, but over here you can buy a new civic for that. I know it's not along with the topic, just don't want you to get taken during the transaction... Good luck.
Re: constant using of bio ethanol
Thanks a lot for the advises
There are several ethanol filling columns in Kiev. Producers and marketeers promote this fuel widly without saying anything about the risks.
As for the price for the car, new one costs at least 27,000 and 29,000 for 5D.
We agreed on 19,200
