I have alot of grinding coming from my distributer, took it to a mechanic and he told me that my router and distributer had to be replaced at a cost of about $800. does this sound correct.

Distributors arent cheap. 800 seems a little high, why dont you replace it yourself?? Save alot of money

what the hell is a router? replace the dist. yourself.. get one at a junk yard.. anything w/ a d15 will have the same dist. just make sure you have it on the #1 piston, and then you have the timing mark on 0 when you re-stab the new one..

I think he means rotor
You're still better off getting a brand new distributor rather than one at a junk yard.. they arent that expensive to get from Honda anyway and its recommended to replace distributor, rotor, cap, plugs, leads etc regularly anyway with brand new items.

a distribuor is most definately not a regular replacement item.. and it can cost several hundred dollars.. the cap on the other hand is like 10 bucks at autozone..a ctually they have a "clear red" set for 50...
