squeky speedometer 1988 civic LX

I just got theis car and the speedometer is loud as hell. how do i take it out and make it stop making so much noise or do i take it out. What can i do to make it stop. there is other problems wrong with my car which is minor things but that's due to it being old and not having a good owner. Many car mods are going to be done on it but for now noise has to stop. I have a 7 adn 4 year old that complains about it.
