Greetings to all,
My Dealer in Princeton, New Jersey wants $650 to do the 30,000 mile maitenance on my 2006 Honda Civic LX. What actually has to be done, and is there other places where it can be done cheaper ( such as a STS )?

um no lol. for that year car, there is almost nothing that needs to be done that early. the coolant is long life type-2, which lasts upto 10 yrs. everything else would just be monitored like brakes, oil change, air filter, plugs, etc. the only things i would recommend doing are brake fluid flush (every 3 yrs independent of mileage), and trans fluid drain and refill. dealers are becoming crooks these days and their rates are highway robbery. you should be able to get a shop to change the trans and brake fluids for $100. then instead of spending the extra $550, you can check your lights and turn signals yourself, and look under and around the car. thats all they would do.

^yea he pretty much said it.
and if u paranoid about then mech not using "real honda stuff" just go to the honda dealer and buy the brake fluid/transmission fluid and give it to ur mech to put it.

what you should do is go to ur honda that quoted you 650, and ask them what specifically they are doing. that way you'd know.
