I put in Chevron Techron, what now?
I noticed a considerable drop in gas-mileage. I've been going cheap lately and I've been putting a ton of oddly named gas companies' gas in my car so I thought I better fix the problem. I think the gas-mileage dropped because of residue from the cheap gas and other crud build-up.
I researched a bit and through the oil/fuel addatives/filters forum, I found that Chevron Techron seemed to be the best stuff recommended by S2000 guys. Those are performance cars though. We all know the D17 will not rev that high. The fact that I drive an auto doesn't really help.
Do I drive aggressively to burn everything off? Do I drive normally? Where will the extra crap and carbon deposits go? Can anyone go into the semi-technical stuff? Not too much as it probably will get boring.

Chevron with Techron will still clean the valves in the D17 well. Sometimes I add some fuel injector cleaner on a full tank. I do not like most small no name gas stations because the gas is cheap, and the pumps take too long.

if you put fp60 you don't have to worry about which gas is good. not sold in stores, website only. its the only thing i would put in my car.

Step 2: Get some FP60 from lubecontrol.com Why do you think that we let them be a sponser? Because they r amazing!!!!!
Step 3: Get kicked in the sack for not reading the oil/lube/fuel additives forum and noticing that the most important ppl on this site us lubecontrols products... ie Gearbox and others
if you live in california, you will have fewer miles per gallon than any other civic owner in the country. Apparently, california's fuel has additives that make it cleaner-burning for our **** emissions standards, which in turn reduce our mpg.. not by much though, it's between 5-3 miles a gallon.

every time you fill up. add one ounce for every 5 gallons. i usually only get 5 gallons anyway and then shoot an ounce in there and drive around to mix it. its okay to use a bit more than needed it won't hurt anything. the measuring bottle helps alot.

Kick yourself for being Ignorant.
All GAsoline IS NOT the same. Additives Might help. But You just cant put in an additive and expect your car to function as we'll as it should. Chevron was rated Top Tier Gasoline for a reason. Because its better than most s#it People pump into there tanks. A while ago i was forced to pump Arco gasoline into my take. i put in and 89 Octane because i dont need 91. and im sure as hell not putting in anything lower.. We'll lets just say my engine almost took a ****.. Idle was ShITTY!! and I lost ALOT of Power.. just to name a few Problems... When People Pump Certain Octane Rated Gasoline in the Car.. ITS THE CAR that Judges how we'll it likes the Fuel... You cant Just pump in 91 and expect your car to run Perfectly because your car might run better on 89....... Regardless.. What ever your putting in your tank. Be CONSISTANT. Gasoline is Prosses'd Diffrently Company to COmpany.... So Pick a Station AND STICK WITH IT.. Its also NOT THE gasoline that gives you a better MPG. THough It an Effect. ITS not the main Cause of a Low MPG.. Check your Plugs. the way you drive.. ect.. If you cant hold a throttel Possition CONSISTANLY. YOU'LL GET A WORSE MPG. I Dive to California Every weekend, and i get a COnsistent 460+ Miles Per Tank. If you do the math that 39.6 MPG. Thats because I Dont go full throttel ever time i see a "fast" car.... To Awnser the Original Question.. Cheveron With Tech. Is Very GOOD Gasoline. if your Putting is 89 Octane Its worth Every penny.. If you Need Prof. Look at your Lifters and Injectors. After 30,000 miles of consistent Crap compaired to 30,000 Miles of a Good Gasoline............ Its the Driving habbits of the Driver and The Condition of the Engine. that Determin MPG. NOT Gasoline alone.

gas is all the same it comes from the same place and certain stations throw their own junk in it and say it has cleaners. fp60 makes any gas work fine. our engine was designed for 87 octane, doesn't matter which brand you get. i used to get arco gas all the time for my old jetta and it ran like a champ. if you have idle problems because of what you think is bad gas, there is something else wrong. 87 octane gives the best mileage. yea you're right the engine condition determines mileage which is why fp60 should be used to keep it clean. techron doesn't work.

The main factor that sold me was that it works with any quality level of gasoline. I mainly use one station, but sometimes I stop @ good deal stops.

yea they also say it allows the car to run on lower octanes without actually raising it or something like that. so it makes 87 better and more explosive. its good stuff and same with the oil stuff.

Gearbox..
I am not trying to 'pick a (internet) fight' with you, but whats the deal with you and lubecontrol? I constantly see you pushing it like it's your own brand, and the profit from sales lands directly into your pocket. CONSTANTLY repping the brand. I can understand, maybe you honestly believe that this is the finest automotive product in the world, but seriously.. you must be personally getting paid or atleast getting free product for the amount of advertisment you give them. It seems to never end!
(not to be a **** *again*) but one could also argue that your car (which always seems to have major problems) is not a shining example of the benefits LC can offer the consumer. Don't you want to spotlight a vehicle that performs without problems in order to promote the product?
I am just curious what your relationship with the company is and why you push them so hard. Nothing more, nothing less.

i have no association with them. it made my car run better and I gained 5-6 mpg consistently thats why i promote it. cause it actually works unlike anything you buy in the store. and they have lab tests to prove it. and its cheap. and it works. should i go on? lol. spotlight another vehicle..okay my buddy uses it in his 05 saturn and also noticed big gains in mpg and his engine is only a year old!

yes, lets do the math, my iridiums will last AT LEAST 60k. if not 100k like stock platinums are (supposed to be but not). anyway, 60k / 400+per tank, cause i wait till the little light comes on, 60000/400=1500. 1500 tanks of gas vs your 120. hmmm i wonder. so 2-3 mpg times 1500 is 3-4.5k. vs what? 5-6x 120? yea ok, i pick iridiums
we could just end all this bickering if we all went out and put in a Turbonator you know... upt to 35 HP and 31% better mileage, can't go wrong
"If every vehicle in this nation averaged just 2.7 more miles per gallon, we could eleminate our dependancy on Mid-East oil."
