Is adding additives to your Eng. good?

Does any body know if if Cmax, Duralube, or Power-up is good to add when changing oil? some old times say don't use additives some people say go ahead, What do you guys think? THX 49ers

Rep Power: 312 ok well if you shouldn't really unless the additive is going to do something the oil can't. the oil already has stuff in it to help out the motor. so i would go against it. on the other hand my old buick had leaks in the engine so i used oil additive to stop that. so if you need it go ahead.

Rep Power: 787 do you guys remember z-max ith linkite or whatever the hell it was called, and they found out it was only mineral oil? I can't believe its still in stores after all the court cases.
