retrofitting question

i have a quick question with trs h1 kits. they offer both a complete kit for 270 and a smaller kit for 120. i was wondering for someone who has a 2003 civic stock headlights, and has no other hid equipment on hand, which one should i get?

Re: retrofitting question

easiest route would be to buy the Morimoto mini (either D2S or H1, doesn't really matter) retrofit kit. Those come with everything you need: projectors, bulbs, ballasts, relay harness, shrouds.

The smaller kit is just the bulbs and ballasts, and you'd end up being one of those guys on the road that blinds everyone and their half brother.

the difference between the D2S and the H1 kit is just the bulb. a D2S bulb is a true HID bulb, whereas the H1 HID bulb is just a rebased bulb.. You can get better quality bulbs with the D2S kit, but H1 bulbs will typically be cheaper.

Re: retrofitting question

You can aim them using the stock adjuster screws since your putting them in your OEM headlights. I was able to aim mine perfectly with the stock adjusters. So you can put the projectors in and seal the headlights and mount everything, and adjust them after everything is put back together.

Re: retrofitting question

Yeah you can aim up/down, but before you seal them back up you need to make sure the projector's beam's are completely horizontal to the ground so you have a beam pattern like this -- not this v

Re: retrofitting question

Don't the lock rings and washer adapter thing keep everything horizontal? I couldn't rotate mine to not make it be horizontal.
