Yeah, something to do with it... It's still as all hell anyway though, so it's not important. It's probably a piece left over from the manufacturing process though.

actually all jokes aside, this might not be a bad idea if you want to do that gas cap holder thing.

THE PAINT PROBABLY WEIGHS MORE THAN THE TABS YOU CUT OFF... EVER THINK OF THAT.. BEST ADVICE I VE HEARD FOR WEIGHT REDUCTION IS TAKE A CRAP BEFORE RACING AND DONT STOP AT MC D'S FOR THE EXTRA LARGE FRIES, BIG MAC AND SHAKE...

My friend drove around without those adjustable air vents inside his dash for a while.... I called them shogun style vents until he put them in. That's weight reduction for you.

haha, excellent lightening job, you save .2 oz 8000 times and you'll have 100 pounds off your ride, keep up the good work!!!

Not only that, but good job all around. Nothing worse than opening your gas door and it not being as clean as the rest of the ride. :P

If I were to do this to mine, I'd likely forget the gas cap on top of the pump (I ain't puttin' that thing on the paint!!!!) and have my CEL on for a while; The '04's come with lil' hangers there for the gas cap just like the one's found on soccer-mom-mobiles. Only difference is, fewer of us civic drivers leave ours hanging there when we leave the station.

Time for more beer and bed!!!!

viva la gas cap hangy thingy.. **** Im glad my 03 has one because my girlfriend as sexy as she is somtimes is not the brightest color in the crayola package... plus loosing a gas cap makes my car go faster becuase of all the weight I lost leaving it at the gas station...haha.... but she sure has the perfect breast and blonde hair to make up for the difference...haha....
Long live the gas cap thingy hangy thing.........

I found that the carpet is useless as well. Oh and if you remove this thing called an "exhaust" you not only shed weight but your car sounds WAY cooler too!

The car has to appear totally stock.

I wonder how much the seat covers weigh? Maybe remove the covers, and spray the foam grey instead. Should be good for a pound or so.

Fill the spare and tires with helium to lighten them up a tad..... hmm.... what else...
Carbonfiber valvestem caps! Yeah...

lighten with helium.. then u would have no traction..lol what if you remove the seat cover and foam entirely and just sit on the frame itself.. heck just remove all the seats and bolt on a plastic lounge chair...
