Carbon fiber hood...good restore?

My vis cf hood is really faded and in need of a restore. Any suggestions on a good cheap way to make it really shine?

sand it down, spray it with clear, and polish it

Suggestions on sand paper grit? Clear coat or what? And Polish brand?

Very high grit. Wet sand it really well. Use 1500 or 2000 grit paper Id say. Rattle can clear and then try meguires 3 step.

really depends on the extent of the damage. I tried to restore my cf hood using 1500 grit sandpaper.. It did a little, but not enough to make it look pretty again.
