Re: Door trim removal?(with picture)

How's this for help: Have you tried googling or using the search function? What are you trying to accomplish by removing it? Are you replacing it or wanting to repaint it.

If repainting then a simple search reveals this

Re: Door trim removal?(with picture)

if you have a sedan, they are clipped in and taped in, so you have to remove the door panels to take em off on the inside. and then you will have holes behind it. if its a coupe, they are held on with just double sided tape. if they are old, it can be a huge pain to pull them off without damaging the thin sheet metal. and once you do, you have weeks of picking off the stuck on tapes. the paint will prolly be okay and you can restore the color with some rubbing compound type products like meguiars ultimate compound or color-x.

I wanted to take them off to give the car a cleaner look, I did some searching around and couldn't come up with anything regarding door trim removal. Yes my car is a coupe, and thank you gearbox for the info! Ill peel those off later on this winter! Its worth the time and effort to get them off i think they are ugly!

If you plan on disposing the door guards, if you get them off without too much damage, I'll gladly put them to more use.

Your link was for painting the strips, he mentions that they can be taken off but there is no guide to how to do it, but thank you for that.

Here being where? I live in Northern Ontario and its unstoppable with winter tires.

I literally climbed a ski hill with the EM2 I had last winter. Manual transmission is a must.
