Hmm just finished rebuilding/swapping my head and a fresh p&p and when I started it I got a :
P1324=knock sensor power source low voltage
P0507= idle air control system higher than expected
P2279= intake air system leak
im guessing intake leak, but not sure why the knock sensor code. Guess I could pull the knock sensor from one of my spare d17's?

I bought a 2001 honda civic automatic, The engine light went on, the only thing we did after buying it are refueled afterwards i noticed the headlights are not the same and when i was about to park it went out, brought it to a mechanic and found out I blew a bulb and they noticed a couple of relays assumed the previous owner used HID lights, so the mechanic removed the excess wiring for the hid lights, the engine light is still on, so i decided to bring it to honda, while driving the engine stopped and did not start after a few mins it started, still the engine light is on..before we bought the car we tested it everyting was smooth shifting no leaks, driving really good like brand new....what might be the reason for this?

Hi there,
I got a flat tire yesterday so I have a spare tire on ATM.
Once I got the spare tire on, I got a ABS light which I assume is possibly from using the spare tire.
This morning, I noticed the engine light is on, could it be from the spare tire as well?
Just thought I would get a sense of what's going on before I may have to take it to the shop later...thanks!

I have just fixed, reset my SRS light. My code read
9-3 Faulty driver’s seat belt buckle switch.
Seems to be a common problem.
This guy help from his website. Thought it might be useful.

2005 Honda Civic Hybrid - P0135 code
Hi
I will appreciate if anyone can help me in this.
From yesterday my MIL light came one and when I took car to advanced auto part they told me its code P0135.
AS far as I know Honda Civic 2005 Hybrid have 3 oxygen sensors but code P0135 is for primary / Secondary or third one ?
If its primary oxygen sensors – Can I change it myself, is it easy or I had to take it to DEALER?
Is it safe to drive car till its fixed ?
Why I am asking –Because Secondary or third oxygen sensors are covered in below warranty.
11-043 is the current software update for the cat. Sensors
11-044 is the warranty extension for the secondary and third heated oxygen sensors. Warranty is extended to 8 years from the original date of purchase or 80,000 miles whichever comes first. If you already paid for a replacement on one of these parts, Honda should be able to get you the proper reimbursement papers you need to send in.
I will appreciate anyone reply.

Check Engine Light, cracked cylinder
Hi,
I'm new to these forms so I'm not sure if I'm asking this in the right place but here it goes. I have a 2001 Honda Civic I just purchased, the check engine light came on a few days ago. I took it into a 76 auto shop and they told me the cylinder is cracked and the only option is to replace the engine (which would cost more than I paid for the car). The only symptom is the CEL and I was wonder if there how valid this is. I am going to take it somewhere else for a second opinion but I would appreciate some feed back here.
Thanks

Hello! I'm in a 2004 ex with side airbags and the srs light is on; removed the passenger seat (while battery was disconnected) and later started and drove the car.
Tried using the paperclip technique but the light never even turned off. What's the next best thing I could do?

So my cel light came on when I was driving and my speedometer briefly went out . Went to aap and did a diagnostics check that my vss ( vehicle speed sensor ) was out. ( as I suspected ) parts coming in two days. But my speedometer is working again as my cel lights still on . I still have to do emissions so not sure if I need this sensor to clear the code.
Also can't seem to find where my vss is actually located . Help ? Please ?

could be a short in your ground, or wiring issue.
Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors
Verify battery voltage to the rear O2 sensor heater on the Black/Yellow wire with the key on. Check the Rear O2 sensor heater ground circuit voltage to the computer on the Black/White wire; clear the code first and see if the computer ever tries grounding the Black/White wire when starting the engine and if the code resets. Depending on what you find you will need to fix conector or repair/replace wiring.

Spec is 10-40 ohms.
My guess: Throw away the Bosch sensor. Get a correct DENSO sensor.

They must be able to handle the 100+ amp current load of the starter and the alternator.

I feel pretty good about the car right now, I have replaced a lot of parts on this 01 but theres 1 thing that still bothering me. I bought this car from a so called dealer who was selling it for a friend, he said the timing belt has been replaced, but after having to get a new trans im not so sure. Is there a easy way to check the timming belt without taking too much apart. I know when it does need one it is very expensive.

Even if you open it up to look, you probably can't tell how old it is.
If the timing belt is more than 2 days old, you can't tell how old it is unless it is so old that is has become rotten.
If you CAN open it up yourself, then just slide another one on. Like $25 for a factory belt from a dealer. Inspect the water pump and tensioner while apart.

dealer didn't mention the trans was bad so maybe he lied about the timing belt. I bought it for $2800 inspected put about 80 miles on it and trans went up.It ran fine on the test drive.

I bet you just figured out why the previous owner got rid if the car.
There is ALWAYS a reason someone gets rid of their car.
Very few people just get rid of a perfectly good car for no reason.

OK switched bosch 02 sensor with NTK one. Idle issue solved now check eng light came back. so diconnected batt to reset was good for a few days now back on code cameback P0141 which is from before I changed 02 sensor and P1457 - No DTC Found DO I need to reset it with code reader instead of diconnecting batt?

Posts 44 and 46 in this thread have the info you need for the P0141 code, or get your own service manual to troubleshoot.
Recheck your wiring and connections too.
You did not get a DENSO sensor?
Was the original sensor made by DENSO or NTK?
P1457 is an EVAP leak code. EVAP control system leakage, canister system or area.
Different problem from the O2 sensors.
Could be a few different things.
Need some understanding of the system and testing.
